Wild Grass!

My wife is looking for a new image for her website and she asked me to have a crack at an abstract featuring some grass or a thistle.

This is my first attempt, but I might have a crack at a thistle as well to see how that goes.

Hey Mark, not bad at all. Do you have a dedicated macro lens.

Hey can you give me some ideas on how to get the best out on my new lee Big Stopper.

First point would be to not drop it, sorry mate had to add that !

  2. Yeah mate…dont drop it would be a very good start!

The big stopper has a blue cast to it, so you will have to warm it up in camera raw or lightroom with your white balance…apart from that experiment with shutter speeds to get the best out of your water movement.

It is hard to see in camera so if you can get aropund to buying a Zaguto Loupe this helps heaps to see the results in camera.

  3. Oh and no, I don't have a macro..on the shopping list for sure!

    Shot with my 50mm.

Not too bad mate, off-camera flash I guess.

  5. Merv, the Lee is a drop in mate.

Tim, no off camera torch actually!

I've got the Singh-Ray Variable 10 stop adjustable from 0 to 10 stop. Screws on. works like a CP, with no colour cast either. Have to sell a kidney to get one though.

  7. …and a kidney is worth…………????????:)

  8. Ohh I am gonna smack you Mervy when I see you next! πŸ™‚

So how much is the Sing-Ray again! πŸ™‚

  9. mervfrench says:

With the current exchange rate you may get it for half a liver !!!!

That would be a good investment as your liver will regrow, so over time the filter will be free … sounds like a good deal to me. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Looks like about $340-$420 mate. http://www.singh-ray.com/varind.html
Probably US dollars so will be cheaper!!!

Merv thinks his liver is worth that much does he?
