Splash Splash!

The above compilation shows the very reason why I bought the 1Ds Mk 3. I was standing here minding my own business on rocks that were dry and setting up for a shot when I saw the splash evolving, so I initially thought…cool, I can get this…until I realised that said splash was keepin’ on comin’ on!

It grew and grew and before I knew it I was wet from head to toe as was the 1Ds!

No probs for that beast thought. Just a wipe down with a wet cloth and off for some more shooting! Show me any other landscape camera that can do that!

  4. I doubt if a 5D mk 2 would have survived actually Paul…it was more than just a few droplets!

You must have grabbed the camera and run for it, the sequence is not quite complete.

He didn’t grab the camera and run – he copped the lot. I was up above and watched. There was a serious amount of water that soaked him. Very funny (I knew the camera was waterproof, but Mark isnt!)

  6. How’d you guess Merv…they call me Billy no silly!

  7. Sounds like a pretty darn awesome camera mate. Cool action shot as well.

I know exactly where you are aha. Not the place you want to stand on a big swell! The ‘spa’ must have been flowing very well this day!

why doesn’t it surprise me this happened to you. So glad I wasn’t there!

Good selling point for Canon, “Tested by Mark Stothard”! The first 3 shots would look ok on their own as well. I used to have a Nikon FM that loved salt water. πŸ™‚

  11. I might put that to Canon Tim! Good idea!
