The Venetian Casino in Singapore

Venetian Lilies

The image above is of a water lillie garden at the base of the Venetian Casino in Singapore.

I have had a fair bit to do with this group over the last few years as I worked as a consultant to them from 2006 until 2009. I took them from being a non ferry operator to one of the largest ferry operators in the world running 14 x 47m cat ferries capable of cruising at 42.5 knots with 411 passengers on board between Hong Kong and Macau.

I was fortunate enough to watch the Macau Venetian grow to become one of the largest complexes in the world and it now boasts 18,000 hotel rooms! The previous record for the most amount of hotel rooms was the Bellagio in Vegas. The Macau Venetian now tripled that capacity and they have done an awesome job of the outfit.

Yet, the Singapore Marina Bay Sands development is equally impressive and the numbers they are putting through there is also an amazing achievement. The vision of the guy behind this development is really quite something. His name is Sheldon Adelson and he backs himself every time with these huge developments.

The Macau Venetian Casino turns over just about as much as the entire Vegas strip to give you an idea of scale!

I was invited to the launch of the Macau Venetian. 40,000 guests to see Circ Du Sole, Diana Ross and a number of very well know Asian performers, then 5,000 of us sat down to a full 8 course degustation menu whilst being serenaded by Phantom of the Opera! An amazing showing and experience!
